We are a reforestation company
planting a diverse range of trees in Panama, enabling re-growth
of depleted rainforests. We are funded entirely from donations
from the public that enable us to invest in reforestation
projects that reduce or offset carbon emissions.

The fund buys depleted land in Panama and pays for the
stewardship and nurture of various bio diverse species of trees by the
indigenous people of Panama, from saplings through to
mature forest over a period of 25 years.
One hectare of depleted land is planted with 1100 trees by
an award winning reforestation project. The forests are then
maintained by this organisation (futuro forestal) who work in partnership
with indigenous people to prevent rural to urban labour migration and
provide a living and education within their local area through sustainable
forestry.
If you want to calculate your
carbon offsets per year, it has been estimated that the average consumer in
America emits 20 -25 tonnes of carbon dioxide a year. Over a year, it
has been estimated that the average tree growing in equatorial rainforest
areas such as Panama, will sink around 20 - 25 kg of co2 averaged over it's
life span from sapling to fully mature tree.
Therefore, 20 tonnes
(20,000kg) of co2 per year / 20kg per tree, per year = 1000 trees to
compensate for the average persons emissions. 1000 trees will suck up
your carbon emissions for your whole life, if the trees live as long as you,
which allowing for forest fires and other problems may well be possible.
1000 trees costs us $20,000 to
steward and maintain including permanent purchase of land allowing us to
know that these trees will remain growing permanently. So over your
lifetime of say 80 years, just $250 a year not only compensates for your
emissions but also provides immeasurable benefits for the indigenous
populations charged with planting and nurturing this new rainforest.
Contributing to this fund helps restore the rainforests of
Panama, provides a livelihood for the indigenous people of Panama and helps reduce the
amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere that contributes toward global
warming. We are a not for profit organisation. All proceeds go
directly to land purchase and 25 year contracted indigenous peoples
stewardship from saplings to rainforest.
